Education Human Resources and Support Associate Job Description

 

The Education Human Resources and Support Position hires and supports all school staff at The Expedition school.

This position begins May, 2024. Please refer to the TES 2024-25 Academic Calendar for more details. TES operates on a modified year-round schedule.

 

 

Main Function:

Work under the Director of Education and Curriculum to coordinate all talent hiring and human resource activities.  Support the Director of Education and Curriculum, staff and the wider school community in activities related to school operations.

 

Reports to: Director of Education and Curriculum

 

A highly qualified candidate will:

 

 

Talent Strategy and Human Resources

  • Co-coordinate all recruitment and talent goal-setting and planning processes.
  • Create data reports to assist in being data-driven in all hiring choices
  • Oversee and Liaise for all employee marketing efforts: work with DEC to:
  • Co-Screen applicants and recommend resumes for further review
  • Organize and coordinate candidate phone screenings, interviews, etc.  
  • Assure all new candidate paperwork is turned in, processed and organized.

  • Conduct staff exit interviews
  • Create contracts for TES employees
  • Hire, coordinate and supervise substitute teachers
  • Monitor and help ensure that all teachers maintain current certification/licensure
    • Notify staff of licensure tests, deadlines, etc.
  • Training
  • Track Staff absences/extra work
  • Update staff contacts
 

Support

  • Build relationships with school staff and get to know them and their classroom needs in order to:
  • Coordinate Substitute Teachers for Staff
  • Track CEUs earned by teachers at our building
  • Staff support, Administrative support, and school board support
  • Website Updates
  • Google Calendar Updates

Tech Support

  • Organize, track and trouble-shoot staff and student devices in collaboration with tech support.

Testing Coordination Support

Teacher curriculum organization support

 

Supporting reception

15% (or 5 hours per week, about 1-1.25 hrs/day)- hours arranged in collaboration with the nurse

Required 

 

Hours

M - F: 7:30am - 1:30pm on campus, 1 hour a week off campus (for early morning/weekend substitute phone calls/texts)

Works: All Student and Teacher Workdays (10 months) - as indicated in the school calendar + additional days pending hiring needs, adding up to 4 weeks during intersession breaks/summer. This position includes 6 weeks of intersession/vacation per year.

 

Salary

$20 - $23 an hour based on Experience/Skill Set
