Long Term Sub for Middle School Social Studies Teacher (Full Time, approx 4 months of work)

A highly qualified candidate will:
- Have a Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Education or Bachelors/Masters in Social Studies or related area
- Current NC Teacher Certification, preferred
- Know where to reference the NC standards for social studies
- Be familiar or be willing to learn standards based grading
- Be familiar with Google Classroom or willing to learn
- Have a Growth Mindset, flexible and willing to grow
- Be proficient with ways to assist special needs students, including students on the spectrum
- Work to achieve school philosophy and policies, including using project based learning
- Be able and willing to collaborate with other staff
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents
- Support 7th and 8th grade transition meetings, IEP meetings, and high-school course sign-up
Salary range:
$15-25 pending experience
Start Date:
December 16th, 2024 (unpaid vacation Dec 23-Jan 3) and restart Jan 6th, 2025
End Date:
May 2, 2025
